World Record Attempts

Page history last edited by Garand 12 years, 8 months ago Saved with comment

Records have been set at conventions for many years. Most common are (often unofficial) Blood Drive donation records, where Dragon*Con usually tops that other convention out west that gets more media attention.

Dragon*Con attempts

Starting in 2009, Dragon*Con started aiming for the record books with a successful gathering of 903 convention goers to perform the infamous dance made popular by the music video to Micheal Jackson's hit "Thriller". In 2010, Dragon*Con aimed higher, going to records in the Guinness Book of World Records with 2 attempts to break records, Superhero Costumed attendees and Star Trek Costumed attendees, and 1 attempt to set a new record, Steampunk costumed attendees.

This year's attempt(s)

Steampunk Costumed Attendees 6:30pm Westin Peachtree Ballroom

Yeeeeeah, I can tell you the Superhero one wasn't even close. They even had to end the attempt early because of such a low turnout. That's what last minute and poor organization will get you. But at least D*C will get the Star Trek one!
