The Marriott is one of the five primary hotels hosting events for Dragon*Con. It is the largest and typically books the soonest.

Located between the Hyatt and the Hilton, the Marriott Marquis is the cross roads of the convention. Once the side show to the Hyatt's center stage, The Marriott is starting to overshadow it's predecessor. Many tracks are hosted here. Many of the performers and fan groups will have tables set up here as well. A recent renovation has netted the Marriott with one of the nicest hotel lobbies around. With ample elevators, escalators, and stairs, getting though the Marriott relatively painless with only the escalator to the lowest level being a consistent bottleneck. "Habitrails" connect this hotel directly to the Hilton, Hyatt Regency, and the Peachtree Center's Food Court,. The dealer rooms were located here until 2013, when they were relocated to the Americasmart.

- A one night nonrefundable deposit will be taken at the time of booking. All cancellations will forfeit the deposit of one night's room and tax

Hotel Pros
- Multiple elevator banks - You spend a lot less time waiting on an elevator than you do at the Hyatt.
- Tends to attract a lot less attention from the Fire Marshal so you're less likely to get shut out of your hotel.
- Noise doesn't carry to the upper floors as easily as it seems to in the Hyatt so if you're about the 5th floor or so you'll be better able to sleep. (Still louder than the relatively-empty Hilton or Sheraton at those hours)
- At the center of the action, less walking to and from the other hotels.
- The indoor/outdoor pool is open during the convention (Marriott room key required for entry)
Hotel Cons
- Because it's at the center of the action, the Marriott always sells out EARLY. As in, two hours (or less) after registration goes live early.
- Extremely crowded at night, albeit without the flow control issues of the Hyatt
- Can be loud at night on lower floors
- Typically the most expensive
- Least accessible parking
Hotel Features
While the Marriott doesn't host very many panels, it is home to the Dealer's Room and Exhibitor's hall. On top of that it's the midpoint between the frequented Hyatt and Hilton, and it has a link to the Habitrail network to the food court. As such it can see a considerable amount of traffic, especially from attendees who don't want to go out into the heat as they pass from one hotel to the others.
For 2013, Dragon*Con is planning to move the Dealer room and Exhibit hall to the AmericasMart across the street from the Hyatt, opening up additional panel space in the Marriott.

Parking
- Valet-only parking which can get expensive, and you're not permitted to get to your car if you need it.
- Many folks staying at the Marriott will prefer to park next door at the Suntrust building. It can be pricey (just like the Marriott itself) but it's covered parking with decent security, and you can get to your car whenever you need to. Plus the Suntrust building has a tremendous amount of space available so it rarely runs out of room.

Shipping
Another alternative to luggage is to ship items to Atlanta. The Marriott Marquis can accommodate this method.

- The Business center will receive your package.
- Upon check-in tell the person at registration that you have a package in the Business Center. They will arrange to have it brought to your room.
Costs:
- It's customary to tip the person who brings the package to your room between $1 and $5 depending on the weight of the package.
- The Business Center charges a handling fee depending on the weight of the package. Packages of 10lbs or less cost $10. Packages that weigh 60lbs or more are charged $25.
Note: If you are shipping your goods/luggage/schwag back to yourself the Marriott has a FedEx shipping center on the lower level (the same floor has the DragonCon shop).
